Events and Activities for Residents at Almond Villas - August 2009
Here at Almond Villas we firmly believe that as part of the rehabilitation process for residents inclusion in events and activities is very important.
All residents are encouraged to organise and participate in events, group trips and outings which are planned by the residents during House Meetings. Here are an example of some of the events that took place in August 2009;
TRIP TO DUBLIN
3 residents with a member of staff visit Dublin for 2 days and 1 night. They went on an open-top bus tour of the city, visited the Guinness Brewery and saw the sights of the city which included Temple Bar, Halfpenny Bridge and Trinity College.
SOUTH LAKES ANIMAL PARK
3 residents with staff spend a day viewing the tigers, rhinos, monkeys, penguins and many other animals. A highly enjoyable day out in splendid Lakeland scenery.
SEA FISHING AT SANDSIDE
3 residents with staff spent the day sea fishing. The weather was fair and dry and everyone enjoyed the day, even though the fish weren’t biting.
PAINTBALLING / QUAD-BIKING
7 residents with staff spent the morning Quad-biking and the afternoon paint-balling at a centre near Blackpool. A highly enjoyable and exhilarating day – and good teamwork by the residents.
WINDERMERE WALK
10 residents with staff enjoyed a lakeside walk in good weather. Everyone completed a four mile walk along the side of the lake to Wray Castle and rowed boats on the lake. All were tired when they got home but all had a great day.
