Residents are encouraged to recognise the connections between good physical and mental health as part of their recovery.
Residents follow the process of assessment, identifying their strengths and needs and developing goals with their key-worker in order to increase their independence and ability to take care of their own physical and personal health. This includes considering diet and exercise, looking after their personal hygiene and dental care and seeking medical attention when necessary (for routine and emergency appointments).
Residents are supported to access community services and support in relation to their physical health; this includes G.P. surgeries, dentists and opticians and other community facilities such as specialist support for particular health conditions, Health Trainers and sports facilities.
