Almond Villas have created a professional and person centred approach in order to manage and support individuals with mental illness, including complex needs, challenging behaviours and Community Treatment Orders, within a social care environment. This service, combined with the support of the multi-disciplinary clinical team, provides the care and treatment required by individuals within the least restrictive environment.
The organisation provides services for those who need 24 hour care and support in order to promote recovery and professionally manage risk within the community, thus providing a link between inpatient services and independent living. This link helps to reduce inappropriate extended placements in clinical environments and provides an appropriate tier on the recovery pathway thus reducing the likelihood of relapse.
Almond Villas offers individually tailored programmes which incorporate the principles of person centred models, assisting the service user to identify what is important ‘to’ them and improving their insight into what is important ‘for’ them.
Almond Villas have a community aftercare team which enables us to continue to provide support to individuals when they leave residential services and move into their own accommodation. Each service user’s needs are assessed in conjunction with their multi-disciplinary care team and a community care plan is put in place. This service provides a continuous and cohesive approach to the support of those who have achieved their personal outcomes within our residential services, thereby minimising the potentially detrimental impact which can be created by change.
