Meals And Mealtimes

Almond Villas - providing mental health care and rehabilitation for young adults with mental health problems.

Almond Villas aims to enable Service Users to be able to undertake this aspect of their daily lives as independently as possible.

Service Users are allocated a weekly budget and support is given throughout, beginning with the initial menu planning (which includes advice and recommendations to ensure as healthy a diet as possible is maintained) moving onto the shopping itself and subsequent food preparation.

Key-workers help develop Service Users’ cooking skills alongside raising awareness of the safe storage of food, the social aspect of mealtimes and what constitutes a healthy balanced diet, respecting any religious observances.
